Billing Overview

Everything to do with paying for Brikly sits in one place: Settings > Subscription.

What you will find there​

  • Your active Briks - each Brik you subscribe to, its status (Trial, Active, or needs attention) and what it costs.
  • Your total - the combined monthly cost, including any extra locations.
  • Add more Briks - see Understanding Briks for how adding and removing works.
  • Manage Billing in Stripe - opens the secure Stripe billing portal, where you can update your card, change the billing address, and download past invoices and receipts.

How payments are taken​

Brikly bills through Stripe. Your first subscription is set up through Stripe Checkout, and renewals are taken automatically from the card on file on the same day of each billing period.

Card details are held by Stripe, not by Brikly. That is why updating a card always sends you out to the Stripe billing portal rather than asking you to type the number into Brikly.

Trials​

A Brik that is still in its trial shows a Trial badge on the Subscription page. No payment is taken until the trial finishes. Remove the Brik before then and nothing is charged.

Who can change billing​

Changing the subscription, updating the card, or opening the billing portal is limited to owners and admins. Members and viewers can carry on working as normal, and when something needs attention they are told to ask the account owner rather than being shown a button they cannot use.

If a payment does not go through​

Brikly tells you in the app and by email, and your access continues for a grace period while you sort it out. See Failed Payments.

Invoices and receipts​

Every payment produces a Stripe invoice. To find one, go to Settings > Subscription, open the billing portal, and look under invoice history. Receipts can be downloaded as PDFs from there.

tip

If your accountant needs the Brikly subscription as an expense, the Stripe invoice is the document to give them. It is separate from the supplier invoices you process inside Brikly.
