Notification Preferences

Brikly creates notifications when something needs your attention - a price change on an invoice, a recipe cost update from a POS sync, a duplicate email invoice, and so on. Notification Preferences let you choose which Briks are allowed to send these alerts.

Where to find it

Open Settings from the user menu, then select the Preferences tab. The Notifications section sits at the top of the page, above Sidebar and Display. You will see one toggle for every Brik you have access to, including Briks you have through beta access.

How it works

Each toggle controls notifications coming from a single Brik. When the toggle is on, that Brik sends notifications normally. When the toggle is off, Brikly silences every notification originating from that Brik across all channels - in-app alerts today, plus email and push notifications as those channels roll out.

The setting is on by default for every Brik. Newly subscribed Briks start with notifications enabled so you do not miss anything important during onboarding.

Tenant-wide setting

Notification Preferences are stored at the tenant level, which means everyone in your workspace shares the same toggle state. Turning a Brik off silences its notifications for the whole team, not just for the person who changed the setting.

If you need per-user control in the future, that will come as a separate feature.

What is and is not gated

The toggle gates notifications that originate from a specific Brik. For example:

  • CostingBrik - invoice processing alerts, price-change warnings, cost-savings opportunities, recipe price sync from POS.
  • MenuBrik - modifier performance alerts, upselling opportunities (when these ship).
  • StaffBrik - rota and absence-related alerts (when these ship).
  • SafetyBrik - safety and compliance alerts (when these ship).

Account-level notifications that are not tied to a specific Brik - for example Gmail forwarding confirmation codes or accounting integration reconnect prompts - are not gated by these toggles. Those messages always come through so you can keep your account healthy.

Saving your changes

Flip any toggles you want to change, then click Save Changes at the bottom of the panel. If you change your mind before saving, click Discard to revert to your last saved state.

tip

Start by leaving everything on for the first few weeks of using a new Brik. Once you have a feel for which alerts are most useful, come back and silence anything you find noisy.
